Hike to Skunk Harbor today
Well, the AQI (who would've known what that stood for a few years ago) was ok today, so we walked to Skunk Harbor and back. Oakley, Buddy and Shelby got to accompany us. And, we had a special guest young man, Sam, join us too. It was Sam and Liz's first time to Skunk Harbor. I think they'll be back!

Update on Hike from Watson Lake to TRT North
Well, we did it! There were six of us on board yesterday for a hike that we won't forget for awhile! Highlights include a lot of fun together, great views and LOTS of exercise.
We weren't worried about staying on the TRT (even though the experts, Jane and Suzie weren't with us). And, we knew how to get to the start at Watson Lake from quite a drive there a few weeks ago. We got to Watson Lake, found the TRT sign, took our picture, and headed toward Tahoe City. All good!
The first thing we came upon was the "street" that Suzie had driven us on, on our way to Watson Lake, during our previous hike. We were psyched to see it and hopped on. We walked about a half a mile down the street, walking on lots of rocks, before thinking that we should be making a turn to get onto a path that looks like the TRT paths, a little less wide. We looked on AllTrails and Guthook and discovered that we were off the TRT! We had to walk at least a half a mile UP the street to get back on the TRT! So, we started out doing an extra mile more than expected!
After we were on the trail, it was great! Some pictures are shown below.
We met some guys who volunteer to keep the TRT clear for us to hike on. Nice guys to chat with during lunch break.
