Pictures from Yesterday's Hike....the middle section of Mt. Rose to Brockway East

We were back on the TRT yesterday! It was a great hike! We started near the Mt. Rose Meadow and hiked up toward Gray Lake to get to the TRT. The hike was 9.3 miles  and about 1400 feet of climbing. I've attached pictures below (unedited, sorry!). We all agreed that the hike will have to be repeated on a day when there's no smoke in the air (we think the Sequoia fire was bringing smoke into our basin yesterday) and the Mule's Ears are blooming (may be mid July 2022?).

The IV Sr. Van picked us up at our endpoint and stopped so we could get ice cream on the way back. Shawn treated us all to an ice cream cone! Thank you Shawn!

Many thanks to Jane who kept us on track!

Our next TRT hike will be on Wednesday, October 6th from Kingsbury North to Spooner South. We'll get an early start as it's supposed to be about 15 miles and 1500 feet of climbing. From my AllTrails app, it says it's 12 miles. So, somewhere between 12 and 15 miles...a long great day! I'm going to arrange for the IV Sr. Van to follow us to our end point where we'll drop some cars off and jump in the van to drive to the start point and be dropped off. It'll be $40 per person. Jane won't be around, so I'm hoping Suzie or someone else astute at using AllTrails can join us!

And, if someone wants to plan a hike for next week, you're welcome to. I (Lori Bard) am not available next week for hike planning.

Lunch Break!

Hello!

Hiked from Nevada to California!

Can you imagine the view if there wasn't smoke in the air?

Lots of sunshine and rocks to hike over!
